Making this post to let everyone know that we are now the proud owners of several resin printers! We have 3 AnyCubic Photo Mono Xs, along with a cleaning bath, a Creality printer + bath, and some bottles of resin. All were donated from the private collection of someone who worked at Desert City Games. They are currently being held on our crafting shelf next to the clay space, but a more permanent home has been envisioned on the lower right shelf of the electronics space. The shelf can be sealed off and ventilated to deal with any resin fumes while printing.

If you've ever wanted to try resin printing, and especially if you have any experience printing, come on down to check out our new machines, and be a part of getting them up and running!

Those are a nice size! Would love to try them out sometime.

Hi All!

I'm not much of a one for forum posts, but wanted to spread the word.

Jeff has done a lot of work getting the Resin Printers up and running. The 3 Anycubics still need some parts, but, I'll be doing a rummage to find some power supplies and a build plate.

The Creality Printer and Wash/Cure Station are both up and running, and I have succesfully printed a Battletech Miniature!

For now, at Nicholas' suggestion, I am running the Creality in the Paint Booth until we can put together a more permanent enclosure.

For Slicer Settings, I used the Lychee Slicer profile for a Creality LD-002H.

For those who want to try Resin Printing out, here's a few safety tips so you don't have to spend hours combing Reddit and watching questionable Youtube Videos:

Handling Resin- while some people online seem to treat the stuff with such casual diffidence that I suspect they add it to their smoothies...don't. It's wildly toxic and you will eventually develop an allergy to it. WEAR NITRILE GLOVES WHEN HANDLING RESIN AND UNCURED PRINTS AND THEN WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER (take the gloves off first).

I reiterate- don't drink the stuff, wear gloves, wash your hands

Isopropal Alcohol in the Wash Station- don't drink this either.

Build Plate- this thing STICKS, if you're having trouble getting the model off, try running the top of the plate under hot water, and using one of the plastic scrapers in the Resin Tub.

If anyone has anything to add, please pile on!!

Graham
