One amenity that we have lacked since the move was a comfotable place to hang out. With the moving of the furnace we have gained space for a bit of a lounge.
The slotwall from the old electronics lab has been installed and pained. The shelves for the wall are in a bin on the mezzanine. There is also power and internet on the wall. I will be storing my Scoperta robotic chair in this corner and will be looking for a similar small arm chair.
Bonus points for anyone who knows who is driving the chair.
I also envision a coffee table with a removable top for puzzles to free up the table by the roll up door.
The propose the shelves are used for the following:
- Games
- A small library
- A Book exchange
- A puzzle exchange
I think we need to be cautious that we do not become a dumping ground for unused books games an puzzles. With excess regularly culled and donated. There should be no expectation that something donated stays here forever. Games etc. on loan should be labeled and removed by the owner if they do not see regular usage. I propose a colored sticker for books and puzzles to indicate when it was added to the shelf. Perhaps a more permanent collection of books to keep at the space curated by members based on use, interest, etc.
